This is where it all began — Sha‘biyat Jumeirah #1. I grew up in this neighborhood, in my grandfather’s house in Jumeirah 1. Though not among Dubai’s oldest areas, many of its original homes still stand, carrying the quiet character of a different time. Created in 2010, this series documents houses that once defined the rhythm of daily life — with familiar doors, rooftops, and small architectural details that connected the community.
